- Have the necessary lab tests and photographs ready and delivered to the clinic about a week before surgery.
- Let your doctor know about any underlying condition, specific medication, prior hospitalization, or drug allergy.
- Inform your doctor if you're pregnant or think you might be.
- If you've taken a medication such as isotretinoin (Accutane), discuss this with your doctor.

- As advised by your doctor, avoid alcohol, herbal medicines, tea, or herbal infusions in the days close to surgery.
- Let your doctor know about any history of poor wound healing or keloid scarring.
- Blood thinners such as aspirin should only be managed in coordination with your doctor.

- Manage your stress and follow the pre-operative instructions closely.
After the Procedure
- Take prescribed medication as directed.
- Keep your head elevated above your body on the first and second nights.
- Visit the clinic within three days after surgery, as scheduled, to have the dressing removed and checked.
- Avoid washing your head for three days; after that, with your doctor's approval, wash gently with minimal contact.
- Use a cold compress around the surgical area for the first two days.
- From day three, a warm compress may help, as your doctor advises.
- Avoid smoking and alcohol for three weeks.
- Stitches hidden in the hairline are usually removed around two weeks later.
- Mild itching, tingling, or a pulling sensation at the incision can be part of the healing process.
